Treatment by evaporation

Mobile on site grouting unit

SOCODEI operates a mobile grouting unit for immobilising radioactive concentrates produced by the evaporation of liquid waste produced by nuclear power plants.

This unit implements a process using a hydraulic binder that complies with ANDRA specifications. The packages produced are intended for surface storage.

The unit consists of the following modules:

  • The grouting unit itself, together with an integral control station
  • A trailer for road transportation
  • A workshop container

The concentrates are conditioned in C1-type concrete shells:

  • Production rate for one shift: 5 packages
